French Coast to Canal du Midi

Back in Winnie again we continue on to the small town of Sommieres. The free campsite listed in our book is beside the bull fighting arena and the nearby river. Great! We set up camp (park and put our chairs and step out!) then set off for a short walk. The posters on the wall of the Arenes de Sommieres said the bull fight was scheduled for next week. Apparently bullfighting was introduced to France in the mid 1800s by the Spanish and it still goes on in some towns such as here.
